Client & Accounts Manager

The role is leading a team of professionals to ensure we deliver excellent client service. Working to maximize outputs via efficiencies without sacrificing quality or increasing risks. Experience working in practice and/or industry environments, and ideally, be ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified (or similar qualified by experience) and have an excellent working knowledge of accounting standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Clients Responsibilities

  • Developing client process manuals.

  • Reviewing close activities and monthly working papers e.g. reconciliations, vat returns, prepayments/accruals & journals.

  • Using and reporting from cloud accounting systems (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks).

  • Reviewing monthly/quarterly management accounts.

  • Investigating and responding to technical accounting queries.

Business Services

  • Review the team’s work and provide constructive feedback on errors.

  • Proactively build authentic working relationships with clients, encouraging them to bring any issues to your attention.

  • Deal with any issues raised by clients and monitor them through to resolution.

  • Monitor deadlines and team workloads to ensure forward planning and capacity-sharing results in success at the department level.

  • Work to up-skill team members and improve the value and quality of our client service.

Business Development


  • To develop and grow the client base, provide additional services to existing clients, and actively seek new business.

  • Identify areas to develop new business or offer additional services and work these through to implementation.

  • Work with our clients to ensure they are receiving the level of service they expect from us.

  • Develop and implements projects, programmes and processes aligned with the Organisation’s strategic direction.

  • Design and implement processes to ensure that data integrity is maintained and work to produce a data pack that informs business decisions.

Digital Accountant

SUMMARY


Your role as digital accountant is to support your client base accurately and efficiently to the best of your ability, providing high-quality information in the form of financial statements. You will report directly to the Account and Client Manager daily, ensuring that effective communication and delivery of services is a priority. You will be driven by the Nephos Group vision and go above and beyond to ensure that the use of tech and digital solutions are at the heart of all decision making.

Key Duties:

  • Management of own client work (including effective communication and assistance with needs where required)

  • Using digital software to complete bookkeeping duties on a daily basis

  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts to ensure accurate and up to date data is being provided to clients

  • Preparation of financial statements to review status

  • Completion of statutory returns, including but not limited to, VAT returns and self-assessment tax returns

  • Report to Accounts and Client Manager on a regular basis to ensure smooth operation of compliance team

Requirements and skills

  • Knowledge of basic accounting procedures

  • Awareness of business trends

  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements

  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages (Xero/QuickBook)

  • Relevant qualifications required - AAT level 4 qualified or equivalent QBE

Tax Technician

SUMMARY


Your role as Tax Technician is to support your client base accurately and efficiently to the best of your ability, providing high-quality information to aid the client in achieving financial goals. You will report directly to theTax Specialist, ensuring that effective communication and delivery of services is a priority. You will be driven by the
Nephos Group vision and go above and beyond to ensure that the use of tech and digital solutions are at the heart of all decision making.

Key Duties:

  • Management of own client work (including effective communication and assistance with needs where required)

  • Use software to deal with Crypto Bookkeeping

  • Prepare, complete, and file tax returns for individuals, building close relationships to understand each individuals circumstances and how we can best assist them regarding potential deductions and allowances

  • Generate complex Crypto based queries to be shared with clientele

  • Use a proactive mindset to ensure that high-quality services are being provided to all clients

  • Prepare tax forms and documents, ensuring that research and advice is sought from senior-level accountants with challenging circumstances, identifying risks and always thinking of solutions to resolve these

  • Create feasible budgets and strategies to help clients stay within budget , offering advice and suggestions on reducing costs and improving profits

  • Monitor and respond to tax authority communications

  • Assist clients with tax audits - Change to: Assist clients with HMRC compliance checks and investigations

  • Use accounting procedures to identify any potential risks for fraud

  • Review financial statements, reports and previous tax returns to identify the best strategy for completing future returns

  • Identify any taxes owed or to be repaid

  • Stay up-to-date with tax laws and regulations

Requirements and skills

  • A general understanding of Crypto, various chains and the blockchain technology. (preferred)

  • Ability to adapt and be part of a cutting edge team.

  • Drive and determination to constantly learn new skills.

  • In-depth understanding of current tax laws, including laws about pay-as-you-earn, self-employment, business and investment taxes

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex tax matters in accessible terms

  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills to help clients legally maximise their returns and reduce tax burdens

  • Organisation and multi-tasking skills for working on several clients’ tax returns at once

  • Computer and online literacy, including confidence using accounting software and the HMRC online portal
